We are committed and passionate about seeing families grow together as part of God’s family and to help make this happen, our Ark group meets on Sunday mornings. Currently The Ark caters for a wide range of ages from 5-10 and is run by members of the church family, headed up by Lucy Mortlock. All of our group leaders have DBS certificates enabling them to work with young people.
The children attending the Ark stay in the church service for the first 30 minutes with parents/carers, during which time there will be a short creative talk/activity led by one of the group leaders from the front . We are a church that loves creativity and we recognise that all of us have different ways to engage with what is happening during our service times together. That is why we have a number of percussion instruments and ribbons at the front of the hall which children are most welcome to take and use!
When the children need to leave the main hall for the Ark they will be directed by one of the group leaders. A typical Ark session consists of games, crafts and Bible teaching.
- At present we do not have a group for babies and toddlers established but we see them as much a part of God’s family as everyone else. For this reason we have two safe play areas both in the main meeting hall as well as in the reception area.
