This is the challenge for every member of RCF. Living the life of Christ. Is it possible? It sounds an almost blasphemous claim!

Jesus said,

I have come that they might have life
and have it to the full.— John 10:10

Jesus said he would send the Holy Spirit, the counsellor. He said,

…He lives with you and will be in you…..— John 14:17

The apostle Paul described His experience of living the life of Christ in this way:

…I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave himself for me.— Galatians 2:20

Living the life of Christ is a daily challenge and a daily commitment. It is a life of faith, a life of prayer and a life of service. The secret of living the life of Christ is, in faith, letting Christ’s life live through us rather than trying to live this life in our own human strength.

Jesus said,

I tell you the truth,
anyone who has faith in me
will do what I have been doing…— John 14:12

and

apart from me you can do nothing.— John 15:5

In John 15 Jesus describes himself as a vine in which we are the branches. If we want to produce the fruit that God is looking for, we can only do so by daily receiving life from Him.

Living this life of Christ starts when in faith we look back to the cross of Jesus. It is at the cross that He died to give us life. He fully paid for our sin that brings us death. He brought us reconciliation with His Father. He promised that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16).

Living the life of Christ doesn’t stop at that point. That is only the beginning. Living the life of Christ is to choose daily to talk with Him and to walk with Him.

The Bible says this:

…Now choose life, so that you and your children may live
and that you may love the LORD your God,
listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him.
For the LORD is your life…— Deuteronomy 30:19-20
